Healthyr and RxWare Partner to Connect Prescription Access With Ongoing Adherence

RxWare’s patient access technology and Healthyr Horizon’s Smart Patient Companion link therapy initiation and adherence for retail, specialty, and med tech.

WILMINGTON, DEL AND LOUISVILLE, KY, UNITED STATES, October 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A prescription can mark the beginning of treatment, but it does not guarantee that a patient can access it, begin it, or sustain it. Healthyr and RxWare today announced a partnership designed to create a more connected experience from prescription and access through treatment initiation, refill readiness, and ongoing patient support.

The need is significant. Over half of new prescriptions for novel medicines launched in 2022 and 2023 went unfilled, according to the IQVIA Institute. In one therapy area, Truveta Research found that only 46.8% of patients first prescribed an anti-obesity GLP-1 receptor agonist medication in June 2025 had evidence of a fill within 60 days. Coverage requirements, affordability, enrollment requirements, pharmacy coordination, and other access barriers can all interrupt the journey before treatment ever begins.

The Healthyr–RxWare collaboration addresses both sides of that gap: the right technology for each therapy, a person involved where judgment matters, and touchpoints that fit into a patient’s day rather than competing for it.

With appropriate consent, often right from the EHR, RxWare helps identify where patients are getting stuck after a prescription is written and supports the access workflows needed to move them toward therapy initiation. Its vendor-neutral platform connects data across patient-access systems, gives brand and patient-services teams visibility into where the journey is breaking down, helps coordinate field reimbursement manager and “hub” outreach, supports enrollment and consent processes, and can connect patients with applicable support program services, pharmacies, affordability support, and manufacturer resources.

Healthyr extends that support into the moments that follow. Through a branded Healthyr Horizon Smart Patient Companion powered by SCOUT (the Smart Companion for Outcomes, Understanding, and Trust), patients can receive therapy-specific guidance and support informed by authorized clinical, medication, biometric, behavioral, and patient-reported context. The experience can help patients prepare to begin treatment, understand appropriate next steps, build medication routines, stay ready for refills, and surface barriers that may require additional pharmacy, patient services, or clinical support.

“Every element a brand adds makes the picture of the patient journey more complete, and harder to read,” said Raeanna “Rae” Lewarne, PharmD, CEO of RxWare. “When people did this work, a missed step announced itself. When systems do it, it rarely announces anything. Our work with Healthyr is about making something complicated feel simple - getting every system around the brand’s patient to say the same thing - so what reaches a patient reflects where they actually are.”

Together, Healthyr and RxWare create one continuous experience – from EHR and hub access, through therapy initiation, to the adherence and day-to-day support patients may need as treatment becomes part of everyday life.

“A prescription is a clinical decision. Starting treatment and making it work are lived experiences,” said Stacey Finster, CEO of Healthyr. “RxWare helps address the access friction that can prevent a patient from getting started. Healthyr extends that support into everyday life, helping the patient understand what matters now, what to do next, and when additional support may be needed. Together, we can connect access and follow-through in a way that is much closer to how patients actually experience treatment.”

The companies plan to incorporate RxWare’s capabilities into applicable Healthyr virtual care and therapeutic-support programs, bring Healthyr’s companion experience into RxWare-supported access programs, and develop joint solutions for life sciences organizations. Specific workflows will vary based on the therapy, program design, available integrations, and approved patient-support pathways.

For life sciences organizations, the collaboration supports direct-to-consumer, provider-initiated, patient-initiated and manufacturer-sponsored patient programs. As joint programs launch, Healthyr and RxWare expect to evaluate measures including therapy initiation, access-barrier resolution, continued program participation, patient experience, and treatment follow-through.
